
Is Quitting smoking with hypnosis a good idea, and does it work?
It depends. It works on some people and does not work on others. It is not a conclusive method, and more research is needed to conclude the effectiveness.
I did a hypnotherapy session to quit smoking. It didn’t do anything for me. I was craving a cigarette moment I went out of the session. I tried believing that it worked. However, nothing changed for me. I was disappointed. It’s not that this wouldn’t work for someone else. If others are like me, the pattern of thoughts made me want to keep coming back to cigarettes. I used the same tools mentioned in this book to quit smoking within a few days and never felt like having a cigarette again. If I can do it, you can do it.
In my view, while I support the idea of hypnotherapy as it is a mental level and smoking is a mental game, I still ask people to try without any aid. If you can observe the sensation and observe your thoughts for what they are, you can remove all the habits as it won’t consume your life anymore. Any short-term fixes won’t fix the issue at the root level. Affirmations, anchor methods, affirmations, meditations, and good image methods are few examples that can help you quit smoking in a few days.
