It’s pretty common to cough when you quit smoking for a short period. When you smoke, Cigarette smoke damages the hair-like projections in our lungs called cilia1. When you stop smoking, Cilia starts to repair and starts functioning again. Cilia cleans the lungs by removing inhaled impurities in the mucus out of the system.

When I was in my recovery phase, I used raw honey as it has antioxidants, antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory properties, which helps clear lung congestion.
It’s a good idea to get an Air purifier to purify the air and remove any smoke-related smell which can trigger cravings. Also, Plant some good air-purifying indoor plants like a spider, aloe vera.

Give yourself the best chance to quit; every effort is worth it.
