People will tell you they have tried all the different products, like patches, gums, inhalers, and so forth, and they never worked. On the other hand, some people may say that most products failed; however, nicotine patches worked, or gum worked or quit cold turkey.
What is the myth?
I personally found quitting cold turkey is the best way. However, if you haven’t done pre-work, it can quickly bounce back, and before you know it, you are back to smoking again. Please remember that it’s easy to quit. Everyone can do it. However, once the novelty wears off, people tend to go back. They haven’t worked on how to deal with it and want to bridge the void they feel. Can you blame them? I don’t think so. Years of emotional attachment may have resulted in this condition. It’s your body and every cell tuned to a particular way of life every day. When you try to change that, your body will say, “Hang on a second. Something doesn’t feel right; why are you not abusing me today?” Your body has been suppressing the chemicals to deal with poison, and when the poison does not flow in your body, you can feel the desire for nicotine and intense cravings to feel that void.
There are techniques mentioned in the book that will make your cold-turkey quitting desire to succeed on the first go. We will look at how to remove negative associations and replace them with positive associations. Please be mindful, as this exercise is critical if you are serious about giving up smoking. Whether you are listening to this book or reading it, please take some time now to identify patterns.
